The National Junior Honor Society is an organization that recognizes student who exemplify the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship, the pillars of NJHS. Through active involvement in school activities and community service, chapter members will further develop their knowledge and skills to become well-rounded individuals. The society’s membership consists of about one million students nationwide from seventh through ninth grades.
Membership is highly selective, with the honor reserved for the highest achieving students in each class. To become a member, a student must maintain a grade point average of 90 or above, display good citizenship, and participate in community service activities. Students are chosen through a comprehensive application process that includes a review by a faculty committee.
As part of the ceremony, the National Honor Society members also took the opportunity to recognize Mr. Brian Merkt. This award is presented by the chapter in appreciation of Mr. Merkt’s excellence as an educator. His work had made a positive impact in the lives of our students.
Congratulations to our newest inductees!
