The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Through active involvement in school and community activities, NJHS members develop the knowledge, skills, and values needed to become well-rounded and engaged leaders. The organization serves more than one million students nationwide.
Membership in NJHS is highly selective and reserved for students who consistently achieve at a high academic level. To be considered, students must maintain a grade point average of 90 or higher, demonstrate strong citizenship, and participate in community service. Candidates are selected through a comprehensive application and faculty review process.
During the ceremony, NJHS members honored high school math teacher Jessica Chenel with the Chapter’s Honorary Educator Award in recognition of her outstanding dedication to students and excellence in education.
