Madison To Join Connected Community Schools Family!

The Madison Central School District is thrilled to announce that it is becoming a partner district with Connected Community Schools!

Connected Community Schools is a Rome, NY-based organization which combines the efforts of over 100 businesses and community-based agencies in pursuit of finding solutions to wide-ranging challenges facing students, their families and the school community. Connected Community Schools has partnered with numerous area school districts.

With the help of an on-site staff member assigned to the district, Connected Community Schools will help to coordinate, streamline, and deliver needed services to students and families. Supports exist in areas such as housing, food insecurity and medical, dental and mental health support.

The Connected Community Schools hub will be located in Room 121, adjacent to the cafeteria. Representatives from the organization started moving furniture and other essentials into the space on Wednesday, February 23rd.

“The Connected Team is so excited to bring our initiative to the Madison Central School District,” Divisional Director of Impact, Jennifer Waite said. “As we've seen so many times before, when a community comes together, the opportunities are truly endless! As a Connected School, the district will work with our team to bring all of the resources and services from the community to ensure student needs are met. With these service gaps filled, students will be able to engage in and enjoy their education without the burden of unmet needs distracting from their academic, social and emotional wellness. Through classroom programming, family engagement nights, our Community Hubs that house tangible goods and items, and our single point of access referral system, we will truly be CONNECTED!”

The organization is in the process of hiring staff for Madison. The hub is expected to be open during the month of March.
