Maple Syrup
Student collaboration by multiple classes led to a sweet surprise for some students and staff recently!
Mrs. Huttar's students recently made maple syrup with many members of our school community lending a hand. 5th and 6th grade students started the process by tapping the maple trees by the playground. Seventh grade students Garrett Weaver, Davin Peck and Keenan Smyrski volunteered to help Mrs. Huttar build an evaporator. Senior Zach Rollins filtered the syrup, and finished boiling it with the help of a reverse osmosis machine.
5th graders helped bottle the syrup. The students distributed the bottles to the students who helped make it, and to staff members as an "End of the Year" parting gift!
