2022-23 Budget Vote/Board Election Results

MADISON, NY - The Madison Central School District would like to announce the results of voting on its 2022-23 proposed budget, the upcoming capital project, and elections for the Board of Education. 

The District would also like to thank the Madison Community for its support and engagement throughout the 2022-23 budget process.

Vote on the 2022-23 Proposed Budget

Shall the Board of Education of the Madison Central School District be authorized to expend a sum not to exceed $11,660,590 as set forth in this proposed budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 and to levy the necessary taxes therefore? 



Result: PASSED (78 votes for, 31 votes against)

Proposition 1 (Capital Project)

Shall the Board of Education of the Madison Central School District be authorized to expend a sum not to exceed $6,100,000 for capital improvements using the existing capital reserve, state aid, and the levy of tax to be collected in annual installments, with obligations of the District to be issued in anticipation thereof?

Result: PASSED (81 votes for, 28 votes against)

(The top two vote recipients receive a four-year term, while the candidate with the third-highest vote total receives the opportunity to complete the final year of a vacated term.)



Votes Cast for Tobias Abrams: 90


Votes Cast for Jennifer M. Lavoie: 76


Votes Cast for Brett Reiter: 72



Three write-in candidates received one vote each.

Tobias Abrams and Jennifer M. Lavoie have been elected to four year terms. Brett Reiter will serve the final year of a vacated term.
