Wednesday 5/22/13

High School Announcements

* Today for Lunch: Pizza Day

* Tomorrow for Lunch: Ravioli with Meat Sauce

* Countdown had begun: 11 Days of Middle/High School Instruction.

* There will be an 'unused' snow day on Friday May 24th to extend Memorial Day Weekend.

* Last Play Tonight: I am a Star begins at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria.

* The library will be closed today during periods 1,4 & 7th for classes doing research.

* Freshman flowers order are in. Please pick them up in Ms. Barnes' room by the end of today!

* 2013 Junior Prom Photos - Class of 2014 are currently doing a fund raiser by selling the pictures from the prom. There is a photo proof album with 245 photos to choose from. Please see Megan or Morgan to view the book and place your oders.

* Annual KICK BALL TOURNAMENT will be Monday June 10th right after school. Team rosters and entry fee of $20 are due to Ms. Barnes or Mr. Owens by June 7th. Refreshments will be available for sale.

* The Annual Varsity Sports banquet is in the final stages of being scheduled. Tickets will be available soon in the secondary office.

* Anyone interested in becoming an FFA officer - please complete your application and give to Miss H.

* Sectional Girls Softball game will be TOMORROW vs. Cincy. First pitch 5pm.

Elementary Announcements

* Weatherman calling for high in 80s.

* REMINDER: Box Top Competition is still ongoing for the most box tops raised by a class from now through June 6th.

* Countdown has begun: 19 Days of Elementary Instruction

Tuesday 5/21/13

High School Announcements

* Today for Lunch: Hard or Soft Tacos

* Tomorrow for Lunch: Pizza Day

* Reminder: No School this Friday May 24th or Monday May 27th.

* Countdown: 12 Instructional Days left for Middle / High School

* Library will be closed today 7th period.

* Reminder to ALL JUNIORS: Accuplacer test will be today. Juniors attending BOCES will be taking test during 3rd & 4th period in the upstairs computer lab. All other juniors will be taking the test today during 6th & 7th period in the computer lab.

* Attention Freshman: Flower orders are IN - please pick them up by the end of today in Ms. Barnes' room.

* Modified Softball were defeated in their final game last night by OV 9-7.

* The Art Show is tonight. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL and do NOT touch the artwork that is on the walls.

* That time again for the ANNUAL KICKBALL TOURNAMENT - $20 will get your team in the running. Roster applications are in the secondary office, with Ms. Barnes or Mr. Owens. All paid rosters are due by June 7th and the tournament will be June 10th.... after school.

* Advisement: Shoes ARE REQUIRED when walking in and around school grounds. It is not only a safety concern but a health issue.

* Budget Vote begins at 12:00 noon - 8:00 pm tonight.

* Seniors Citizen Dinner is also tonight.

* Reminder: Blood Mobile will be next Tuesday May 28th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm in the gym. Community Members - Please contact 315.893.1878 x114 to make a reservation to donate.

* Last Play of the season will be this Wednesday and Thursday presenting I am a Star beginning at 7:00 pm.

* The modified baseball (doubleheader) & softball teams are home vs. O.V. today with first pitch at 4:30 pm softball & 4:00 pm baseball.

High School Announcements

* Today for Lunch: NO Lunch Served

* Monday for Lunch: Chicken Nuggets with a roll

* Students are dismissed at 11:20 am today for Superintendent's Day.

* Modified Baseball & Softball travel to Brookfield for a 4:00 pm first pitch game.

* Prom Rehearsal will be today at 11:00 in the cafeteria.

* Modified Softball defeated McGraw 26-8 last night.

* Library will be closed today 2nd & 4th period for classes doing research.

* Student Council Officer Elections will be fast approaching. Please pick up your petition outside Mr. Burdick's room. They are due Thursday May 23rd.

* FFA Sr. Officer applications are due to Miss H soon. Please pick up your application today.

* 2013 Prom Crowning will be at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. The School building will not be open until 5:00 pm if you plan to arrive early.

* After Prom party permission forms are available in the secondary office and can be turned in at the crowning to a SADD member. Cost is $5.00 and will be held here at the school in the gym.

* Countdown: 14 middle/high school instructional days left for the school year.

Elementary Announcements

* Weather today will be partly sunny with a high of 75 degrees.

* Wish Mr. Reese luck for his ride for missing children today!

* Countdown: 22 elementary days of instruction remain for this year.

* Box Top Contest sponsored by the Madison PTO. From today through June 6 - the elementary class that brings in the MOST box tops will win EACH member of that class a gift card to Troop Scoops. Bring your box tops into your teacher for them to be counted!

* Science Fair will be Tuesday May 21st from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm in the gym.

* Madison Art Show will also be Tuesday May 21st from 5:30 - 7:00 pm in the hallways.

* Reminder - Next Friday May 24th will be an unused snow day. Enjoy the long Memorial Day Weekend!

* Students dismissed at 11:20 am on Friday - NO LUNCHES SERVED

* Monday for Lunch: Chicken Fajita Tortilla

* Prom Voting will be Friday morning during homeroom for Juniors and Seniors only.

* The Library will be closed today during 52nd & 4th period due to a class doing research.

* There will be a SADD presentation today at 1:30 pm for grades 9-12 in the cafeteria.

* Modified Softball & Baseball players are dismissed at 2:30 pm today. Bus departs for McGraw at 2:40 pm.

* Modified Softball defeated Cincy 11-6 yesterday.

* ATTENTION JUNIORS: All juniors need to report to the upstairs computer lat at the start of 4th period for the Accuplacer writing test. Please bring something to write with.

* Student Council is now taking applications for their officer elections. All applications are with Mr. Burdick and need to be returned by Thursday May 23rd.

* Colgate is looking for ushers for their commencement on Sunday from 8:30 am - 10:30 am for community action hours. Please contact Mrs. Coon by the end of today if interested.

* Last Chance Dance will be Friday May 31st from 7-10 pm for grades 7-12.

* There will be Jr & Sr High FFA meetings today during respective lunches in the Ag. room.

* Anyone interested in being an FFA officer must fill out an application and turn into Miss H.

* Prom Crowning will be Saturday at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.

* Countdown: 15 Days of Middle/High School Instruction remain.

* Student of the Month celebration will be this morning at 8:30 am in the cafeteria. Congratulations to all this month's winners!

* Don't forget that students are dismissed at 11:20 am tomorrow for a Superintendents Day conference.

* Elementary Science Fair will be Tuesday May 21st from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm in the gym.

* Progress Reports are to be mailed today and tomorrow.

* Prom is this Saturday at Madison - Crowning is at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.

* AFTER PROM events will be held at Madison School. Cost $5.00 and due to Mrs. Coon WITH a signed permission form from your parents. Please stop in for your form. (Forms were also handed out during lunch).

* Modified Softball ONLY vs. Cincy home at 4:30 pm.

* Varsity Baseball & Softball travel to Cincy tonight for 4:30 pm first pitch.

* Colgate University is looking for ushers for their commencement on Sunday - COMMUNITY ACTION HOURS can count toward graduation. Will be from 8:30 am - 10:30 am - Names needed to be turned in by the end of today.

* Last Chance to Dance - Sophomore Dance on Friday May 31st from 7-10pm for grades 7-12.

Please write and submit a note on the day of his/her return to the appropriate office with the following information:

A note must be written for each absence. The State Education Department requires these procedures to ensure that all student absences can be accounted for or "resolved." Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
