Welcome to the Madison Central School District website. The achievements and success of our students and staff are directly connected to the goals and mission developed by our Board of Education. I am proud to serve as Superintendent of a district that is truly supported day in and day out by an entire community. Together we are determined to develop and provide quality educational opportunities for all students.
As a Pre-K through grade 12 building we have the unique privilege of truly watching our students grow up. We pride ourselves on pursuing excellence in all facets of our educational system. Our faculty and staff work collaboratively focusing on continual improvement. A few years back we invited a motivational speaker to address our staff - Michelle Borba - she summed up what all schools should be and it was compared to the theme from "Cheers"; a place where everybody knows your name and everyone is glad you came. That is what Madison represents. We know our students, their families, and their needs. We work continuously to pursue excellence for all and provide service individually.
Our facilities are in outstanding shape and our technological offerings far outshine most districts in our area. We have been able to fund and create full-classroom computer labs at both the elementary and high school levels along with three mobile laptop carts which provide in classroom lab opportunities. In 2005 we were successful in obtaining a $1 million Reading First Grant for our K-3 programs. Each K-3 classroom has smartboard technology to enhance instruction, as do most secondary classrooms.
The hard work of realigning curriculum to keep pace with the ever-changing state and federal requirements has resulted in a structured focus for our staff and steady improvement for our students. Over 75% of our graduating seniors leave with college credit. An increasing number of our graduates have pursued post-secondary education. We have also enjoyed a 97-100% completion rate. Our school's mission is and continues to be excellence for all.
