Who is Ms. Barnes??? |
![]() Ms. Barnes is a 1995 graduate of Waterville Central School. She then attended the State College at Oneonta to major in Elementary Education. In her junior year, after taking an Intro to Geology course, she discovered her love for the Earth Sciences and changed her major to Geology. After a year she still felt that she would like to teach and changed majors again to Secondary Education with a concentration in Earth Science and Biology. In 1998 she spent a year taking classes and traveling around Australia and New Zealand. She returned to those countries two years later to spend some more time traveling. While in college she was the vice president of the Geology Club, secretary for the Association of Secondary Educators, a member of GSA, the USGS, the National Honor Society for Earth Science, and the National and State Science Teacher Associations. After obtaining her Bachelors degree she continued at Oneonta to begin her Masters Degree, which she finished in 2006. |
![]() Ms. Barnes started teaching here at Madison in 2001, and since that time she has taught numerous classes including, Earth Science, 7th Grade science, 8th grade natural disasters, Integrated Science, Environmental Geology, Advanced Earth Science, Intro to Astronomy and Independent Art . Her favorite part of working in Madison is her students and working with her best buddies, Mr. Burdick and Mr. S (even if they love doing experiments that put her life in danger). |
