![]() Please talk with your children about prioritizing. They can choose to do their homework before dinner or homework before TV, for example. Homework due tomorrow needs to be done before homework that is due next week. Establishing a routine, and a place to work, will help the whole process go more smoothly. Sometimes just sitting near your child provides the support they need to do a tough assignment. Parents and family members can't be beat when it comes time to practice before a quiz or test! Acknowledge your child's efforts so they can see the connection between working hard and learning. I have quite a few students who do their homework, or bag-book, in the evening but "forget" to bring it back to school the next day. Please remind them, when they are finished, to put their material in their book bag. After a few reminders the new behavior will become a routine.
